Mike Livecchi Jr wins Orignial Pizza Log Tour Stop at Monroe County Fairgrounds

HENRIETTA, NY…  Mike Livecchi Jr. led from wire to wire to score the yearly stop for the Original Pizza Logs 600cc Micro Sprint Tour event at the Monroe County Fairgrounds. Also on the card were the 270cc and it was Henrietta’s own Rick Francis picking up the checkered flag on night one of the Monroe County Fair.

Livecchi Jr and Tyler Walker led the field of twenty-five 600cc Micro Sprints to the green flag and it was Livecchi Jr out to the early advantage. The field was slowed by a early race caution for the spinning Kevin Devrsyt at the rear of the field. Livecchi would lead Walker, Cory Shurgot, Chuck Hebing and Nick Cooper back to the restart green and Hebing was on the move towards the front of the field.  The Ontario, NY pilot was behind the wheel of his Cobra Trailer Sales, Dan Williams Enterprises Hyper Chassis 45x on the top side of the speedway but was passed for second a short time later by Walker.

Off the restart, Livecchi would pull away from the field and the caution would fly for a second time as Ben Kysor and Cory Gramlich would get together in turn two. The yellow flag would fly once again on lap 10 as Dave Ferguson would spin his AT&T sponsored machine in turn two. Also involved was Cory Shurgot and he was able continue on racing.

Hebing’s night would come to an end on lap 12 as he slowed on the front stretch and at the same time, Alex Mosher’s night would end after losing a tire.  Limerock Speedway regular Frank Jarkiewicz would loop his DR Motorsports, Hyper Chassis 48j on lap 15, just after the halfway signal was displayed to the field.  Livecchi would lead the remaining laps to score the victory over Tyler Walker, AJ Bogino, Nick Cooper, and Kevin Carlson.

AJ Bogino was victorious in the Original Pizza Logs Dash for Cash over Mike Livecchi, Nick Cooper and Tyler Hill. An extra $100 was awarded to Bogino from K&M Automotive out of LeRoy, NY. The tour would like to thank K&M for their support of the Original Pizza Logs Tour.

The support division for the night was the 270cc Micro Sprints and it was Rick Francis picking up the checkered flag. Shannon Doran and Kyle Podgers led the field to the green flag for their 20 lap feature event and it was Doran out front early.

The first yellow of the event occurred on lap four as DJ Forbes slowed on the front stretch. He was able to continue on racing. Off the early race restart, Rick Francis would get around Doran for the lead and would pull away from the rest of the field.

Jim Howard would slow on the back stretch to bring out the caution on lap 14. Francis would hold off Doran to pick up the checkered flag. Kyle Podgers would finish third and he was followed to the line by Devin Delormier and Kelly Hebing.

The Original Pizza Logs 600cc Micro Sprint Tour next event will be on Sunday August 7th at the New Cayuga County Speedway where Nick Cooper won the previous two events on the historic 3/8th’s oval in Weedsport.  Also announced was the tour will be making a second stop this season to the “D-Shaped Dirt Demon”, the Brewerton Speedway on Friday August 26th.
